A Caucasian mother in her 30s, raising three children, came to us carrying the long-term effects of both childhood and adult abuse. At the time, she was unemployed and struggling with severe anxiety and depression that impacted her physical health, sleep, and ability to parent consistently. Through trauma-focused care, including EMDR therapy, she has made remarkable progress. She is now working full-time, sleeping well, and engaging more confidently and consistently as a parent. Her growth has also positively affected her family—most notably, her youngest child has experienced a significant reduction in negative incidents at school.
